Pfc William M. Thomas was born in Milford, DE on March 4, 1915. He enlisted at Fort Dupont on November 1, 1933 at the age of 18 and serve his boot training at the fort. He served with the 1st Engineer Regiment, 2nd Battalion, Company D and his military vocation was chauffeur (Truck driver).
He was also part of the fire response team at Ft Dupont. Pfc William M. Thomas served at Ft Dupont, DE, Camp Dix, NJ, and Pine Camp, NY while serving as a member of Co. D. Pfc Thomas was attached to Co. D until his Honorable Discharge at Fort Dupont on October 31, 1936.
He was married to Hazel M. Draper on October 17, 1936. During World War II, he was a City of Wilmington Police Officer and serve until being injured while on duty. He retired as an Inspector for the DE Motor Vehicle Division in 1980. William M. Thomas passed away on June 1, 1998 in New Castle, DE.
William Thomas had 3 sons and the youngest son created this website.
